Art Books & Workshop Sketches

Greetings and Salutations...
I wanted to share with all of you some really wonderful Art Books that I ordered off of Amazon. However, I haven't been able to actually dive into them, but this weekend I think I'm taking the time to go through them page by page. I glanced at them, and I have to say... I'm really excited about the pencil drawing ones. I'm taking quite a few workshops this Summer, which has me pretty busy with homework, watching videos and doing a lot of practice work. The trick with pencil drawing is that you HAVE TO DO THIS EVERY SINGLE DAY! (and believe me, if I can do this anyone can do this) I never in a million years thought I could actually draw something, and have it look somewhat human! LOL I've been practicing and really taking the time to learn this wonderful art form. Not only are my workshops teaching me how to use a pencil, but it's also teaching me about perception and color, which I've been experimenting with my paints. I absolutely love this new art form that I'm learning and it will also help me as an Art Doll Artist in the long run.
So with that said, I challenge you out there to pick up a pencil and just DRAW! Don't worry about how it looks, just get the pencil to met the paper and have FUN! Trust me... you will so enjoy it, and it will become part of you!

These Pencil Drawing Books are freaking awesome. Especially the ones to the Left. You have to get the workbook that comes with the book. I'm very interested in how the Masters started, so I'm building up my library with all kinds of amazing and wonderful books. You can't have to many books around! LOL

The Journal Bliss book gives you a lot of techniques about journalling...which you all know I absolutely love doing!

Here is a "Work In Progress" that I have been playing around for months now. Every time I walk by her, I throw something on her! LOLPictures from my Sketch Book with My Progress. I just love drawing faces and the more I do it, the better I will become!

Here is a tip...Write down all of your art supplies in a journal and take it with you where ever you go. You never know when you will pass an Art Supply Store or be out and hit the jackpot on sales or a new Art Store that you never knew existed...There is nothing worse then getting home to realize that you already had the things that you bought! LOL

I hope everyone is enjoying their Summer and being creative! Have a wonderful weekend! Until next time...

New Awards from Odd-Dolls by Pattee

I have been given two (2) very, very special awards from Pattee of http://www.odd-dolls.blogspot.com/. Pattee and I are involved with many different groups together and have gotten to know each other through participating in these fantastic groups. Especially over at DAG, Pattee has been such a wonderful addition over there and helps me out with the PR Group. Pattee is one special crazy lady who has incredible talent, not only as an Art Doll Artist, but also as Painter, Drawer, and Mixed-Media Artist. Pattee recently took some mini-holiday's to Idaho, Colorado and other other beautiful places. I can't wait to discuss her travels with her since I've been some and have seen some of the beautiful places she visited over the Summer. Please make sure that you stop over and see her incredible art work. Also, Pattee has now opened up her Etsy Shop, so check them out at http://www.odd-dolls.blogspot.com

Here is the First Award and the Rules and Information about this Special Award:
This award was created by Ces http://cesandherdishes.blogspot.com/
In honor of her friend Bella Sinclair
http://bellasinclair.blogspot.com
The post on Ces's blog regarding Bella and the history behind the creating of this wonderful award.
In Ces's own words:
"I designed this award to celebrate art in the blogs and to honor the value of friendship, sisterhood, sharing and caring. It is to be awarded to the gifted, accomplished , eloquent and talented blogger whose friendship and influence inspire us to do our best. That I named it after Bella Sinclair is because she epitomizes all of these things,, She is an inspiration to many of us."
Also Ces says:
"I hope that when Bella returns, this award would have already circulated in the blogs. It is my honor to give this award to the first recipients who I hope will find the same as I have in spreading its crown, giving shade and comfort of friendship and caring of the sisterhood by sharing this award with their blog-friends and sister."
I am passing this award onto:
Zan over at http://wildatheartart.blogspot.com (Gorgeous, Talented, Funny, and GREEN...yes, she is the keeper of the Bees...she is saving our honey!)
Second Award
The Rules:
This award is given by one to person to one person.
This Award is a Very Special Award...All Awards are special, but the fact that Pattee gave me this Award...just means the world to me. Thank you my friend. Remembered and Cherished Forever!
This Award is being given to Michelle over at 3rd Eye Muse, www.3rdeyemuse.blogspot.com Michelle, and I know you all know her...Always makes it a point to visit our blogs and gives us encouragement to keep going and reach for our dreams. ELEMENT ART DOLL BLOG EVENT HOSTED BY ADO

Art Dolls Only Blog Event has begun. Art Dolls Only is hosting an Art Doll Challenge based on the theme "ELEMENTS." EARTH, FIRE, WATER, AIR. This Blog Event was opened to Non-Members of Art Dolls Only and to Members and we had to choose an Element and form our Art Doll around that Element. Some did all Four Elements, Some did Two Elements and Some did One Element.

I did One Element....EARTH. Please meet EARTHLING. Earthling is here waiting for the Fall to arrive so he can gather his leaves to make beds for his family and friends, who reside in a small village outside of Mertzville Berry Cobweb.

Earthling is also know for protecting the Earth. It saddens him when he sees others destroying the good Earth. Especially when people drive through fields that have been worked to the bone in order bring good food to others.

Notice the Key in which he has around his cloak. This key is very special. It unlocks the mysteries of Mother Nature. Earthling is the Keeper of this key, and will only open the door when the world is ready! I've asked him how long we would have to wait...his response...Not in your life time Ms. Crow...the Earth needs to repair herself and it will take years to undue the damage that has been inflected upon her. However, if everyone does their part...in helping to repair her, Ms. Crow you might have a chance to see me turn the key. As I walked away, ideas of helping the EARTH and spreading the word consumed my brain...then I started to giggle...I know what I will do, and with that Crow Haven Farm has become "GREEN." Have you all become GREEN? What are you waiting for? Help Earthling turn the key!

Little Earthling comes to visit so often and today I see him sitting in his favorite spot which looks out into the fields. He loves that spot, so we have designated this little spot on Earth as the "EARTHLING ROCK."

I loved doing this Art Doll Challenge and I especially loved the theme. Please make sure you visit the other Team Members and Non-Members who also participated in this lovely event. Some of the Art Dolls that you will see will blow your mind. These ladies have spent a lot of time getting ready for this event so make sure you stop over and see their lovely creations.
You can visit all of the participants at www.artdollsonly.blogspot.com Nicole from Mealy Monster has set up a list of participating Art Doll Artists...So get going over there. LOL Enjoy...I know you all will.
Thanks for stopping by and hanging out with me and Earthling.
UNTIL NEXT TIME...
